How can I edit or update my existing school review?

Yes, you can edit or update an existing review that you have left for a school. Follow the steps below.

1) Login to your GreatSchools account.

Login here. This needs to be the same account on which you wrote the original review; this may be a Facebook-based login, or one based on your email account.

2) Find the school you left a review for.

You can search for your school from our main page. You may also be following the school you left a review for; if so it will be listed in 'Your Account' under 'My School List'.

3) On the school's profile page, select 'Reviews'.

This is in the blue banner near the top of the page.

4) Scroll down to the 'Review topics' section.

If you are logged in, and have previously reviewed this school for this topic, you will see a 'Manage review' button with any comments you may have left above. (We have highlighted the button in the screenshot below.)

Please note: 'Overall' reviews are separate from review topics. Overall reviews ask you to rate the school from 1 to 5 stars, and to leave your comments as to why you rated the school that way. Review topics vary by subject. If you do not see the review you want to edit or change immediately, select the 'Previous Topic' and 'Next Topic' links until you see the 'Manage Review' button.

If you do not see a 'Manage Review' button at all, it's likely you are either not logged in, are logged in with the wrong account, or have not actually left a review of this particular school.

 5) Click 'Manage Review', and make your changes.

You will now be able to alter your previous choice of score (in stars, for an overall review) or answer (for review topics). In addition, you can add, remove or edit your existing review.

In this example screenshot, we're adding some more detail with an extra line in the review, and keeping our score choice the same.

6) Click 'Submit' when finished.

When you're finished editing your review, click 'Submit'. This will take you to the next review topic.

You may change your review as many times as you wish, but you will need to refresh the profile page in your browser, and then navigate back to the review you previously posted. Click 'Manage review' again to edit the review.

Why does my submitted review saying 'pending activation'?

'Pending activation' means your review has been submitted, but is not yet 'live' (in other words, viewable) on GreatSchools. This occurs for a variety of reasons.

Your review may be reviewed by our moderation team, and as long as the content is in line with our review guidelines, it will appear within a few days.
