GreatSchools uses publicly available data (including from the Department of Education), supplemented by verified information supplied by our users, to provide our school listings.
Unless a school has been closed and then verified as closed by us, we do not remove school listings, even on request.
We are always happy to work with schools to help them provide accurate and complete information for their school profile. If you need to update existing information, please submit a request and include the following information:
- A detailed description of the information that needs to be corrected
- A link to the school's GreatSchools profile (if available)
- The school’s full name
- The school’s address, including city and state
All requests are thoroughly validated by GreatSchools. If your submission is incomplete or cannot be validated by our team, changes will not be made. Edits may take up to two weeks.
Alternatively, you may claim your school's profile
We offer a free and easy service, called a GreatSchools School Account, for principals and school administrators to share their perspective and make sure they are providing accurate information with the families that use our site.
With a School Account, you can update key information and share more about what makes your school unique. This is a great way to share all the best aspects of your school with parents who use GreatSchools to find schools.
It’s easy as 1-2-3: Enter your school’s name in the search box, sign up for an account using your professional school email address, and then customize your profile! (Please note: we take data security seriously, so we’ll verify your affiliation with the school before publishing changes).
