Claim your school
Request access to your school on GreatSchools.org by creating a FREE School Account.
A School Account is a free and easy service for principals and school administrators to share their perspective and make sure they are providing accurate information with the families that use our site.
Please note: Only existing school profiles can be claimed. You cannot add an unlisted school by creating a School Account.
What can I do with a School Account?
A School Account gives you access to certain fields within your school profile and the ability to add additional information about your school that might be important for prospective students and families. With a School Account, you’ll be able to:
-
Engage with families
Reach parents directly with information they want and need, from school culture to course offerings to extracurriculars and more. You can also respond publicly to community reviews directly on your profile.
-
Update your profile information
Add or change the principal’s contact information, school website, and hours to reflect the most up-to-date details. You can also answer simple questions about your school’s classes, learning environment, extracurriculars, college and career offerings, and more.
-
Attract new students and staff
Give prospective families and staff a glimpse into what makes your school special.
How to claim your school’s profile
-
Create an account
Teachers, principals, verified PTA/PTO leaders, administrators, and communications staff can all claim school profiles. IMPORTANT: After signing up for your account, you’ll get an email asking you to verify your email with one click. This quick but important step must happen to create your school account.
NOTE: If you’re claiming more than one school (e.g. district communications personnel) and you have access to a generic, school- or district-based email (such as info@yourschool.org), we recommend using that address to create your account.

How to respond to reviews
While logged into your School Account, toggle to the “Reviews” tab and click “Reply” to post a public response to a school review.
How to recruit new reviews
Prospective parents appreciate current reviews from teachers, staff, and even students (middle and high school). Provide a link on newsletters or the school’s website to encourage new reviews. Offer a station for reviews at the Open House or encourage your graduating class to share their final thoughts (parents and students). The key is transparency. Encourage teachers to share their experience as teachers. Parents can share why they chose the school or interactions with special education or other programs. And students can share their daily experience with classes, counseling support, and extracurriculars too.
Prospective parents want to hear from you too! Using the school leader review gives you a unique opportunity to share special programs and noteworthy achievements. It’s a place to share your pride of your school community.
